Well, i guess you can say i am a newbie but im preaty confident in what i am doing.
I am building a new box and i dont want to have to put a gui on it but i want to be able to download stuff using the gnutella network.

i plan to use debian.

is there a current version of mutella or gnut for debian?

if not, Any suggestions?

A quick "apt-cache search gnutella" brings up the following hits:
Quote:
dcgui - Direct Connect Graphical client (GTK+) (peer-based file-sharing)
dctc - Direct Connect Text Client
gift - metapackage for the giFT filesharing system
gtk-gnutella - shares files in a peer to peer network
libgnutella-gift - giFT plugin for the Gnutella network
mldonkey-server - Door to the 'donkey' network
mutella - Gnutella client with command line and http interface
opendchub - hub clone for DC (Direct Connect P2P network)
rccp - connect to Direct Connect peer file-sharing network via text console
I'm not sure about what they all do, but one of them should work for you. I do know that mldonkey is supposed to be a good multi-protocol client, not just donkey, but I heard recently that its G1/G2 support is pretty poor.
