I was under the impression you were making some Konfigure tool. (Konfigure is a kde ./configure frontend) But that doesn't shift my opinion about your program at all; I hope to see this thing evolve.
(somehow I believe this thread got a little offtopic )

Last week I've been playing with the KDevelop3 IDE, and the QTDesigner. You can use these tools to create KDE applications very easily. From what I've seen so far, it looks really promising. The QT toolkit is very easy to use, and the QTDesigner is capable of generating your UserInterface code.
...kdevelop3 looks a bit like MS Visual Studio as well
I have like 6 months to do it, it's about a database. It's actually quite simple, a guy who owns 3 stores wants to have a database with inventory and blah blah.
The thing is that I've done it but using php, mysql and apache. I liked the apache and mysql thing, but I don't like using html and php. I was thinking to do it in Java and I've heard it would just go fine, but it might me kinda to slow.
I've seen C++ is wa too faster so what I'm basically talking about is programming in C++, having a Graphical User Interface, and connecting it to Apache where the database should be.
Now.... can it be done? first of all, I need the GUI in C++ and running for Windows (too bad, the guy only has win). I've used GUI on Java, so basically all I need to know is which library to include and how to declare all the gadgets.
Then I need the communication among the 3 stores. I was thinking it would be like there's Apache in one of them and have the other 2 to communicate. How can I do that? Actually I'd was wondering if anyone can let me know of a tutorial, because it would be quite hard to explain it all here.
