waching movies

How may I watch a movie that is incorperated inside a webbrowser? Every website say's something like "if you are having problems, please upgrade your browser here" and link to the microsoft site for internet explorer. I got the mplayer plugin for firefox, strangly for most of them (out of the ones I try to view) it doesn't work.

I tryed looking at the source to download the file. The file have the extension "asx" I could download it, but don't know what to do with it.

How may I get it to work in firefox? I downloaded & compiled it and put "mozplugger.so" in the firefox plugin folder. All I see is a gray box now.

Edit: well now I can view more media however, I can't view the media's that are usually ascosiated with the microsoft logo, and real player. Quick time works.

you might wanna install mplayer, it sort of covers all the media...it's what i use and it's yet to fail me.

***edit

on a side note, you might wanna list what distro you are using...it makes it easier to help you out sometimes
