VSFTPD mounted directories problem

Hello! I try to create virtual directories on CentOS/vsFTPd FTP server, using command

mount --bind /mnt/hdb1/upload_4 /var/ftp/pub/upload_4

where /var/ftp/pub/ is ftp server root directory. Directory mounted and all looks cute from console. But when I try to go to this directory via ftp I have error "550 Failed to change directory." CHMOD is 777 and ftp:ftp is owner of this directory. Please help me to fix that problem.

When using an FTP login the current login user will be the user, and not ftp. So setting ownership to ftp:ftp will only work from a remote access when really logging in as user 'ftp'. Assuming that you want the data to become public, you will have to set ownership to the user/group name used for anonymous access.

Where can I find out which user:group used for anonymous access? And one more question: target folder is situated on hdd with ext3 file system, does it matter?

Problem solved by updating vsFTPd to version 2.2.0 from sources. I've used this article http://blog.chinaunix.net/u1/43047/showart_677835.html
