VPN Connectivity on Ubuntu 8.04?

I have Ubuntu 8.04 running with vpnc package installed.Generally I have been using Windows Machine. We need to install a CISCO VPN Client where it will ask for :
Code:
Username :
Passcode :
Passcode is one which gets displayed on RSA Secure ID.Say if Secure ID displays 3423 4567 on it.
I will write my 4 digit pin (5454)with this 8 numbers like:
Code:
Username : tuxbuddy
Password : 545434234567
And It gets connected and On next Screen it will ask me My Corporate Machine ID and Password with domain name like:'
Screen 2:
Code:
Username : <mydomainname>/tuxbuddy
Password : ********
And it opens my Mails and everything setup.

Also, I can access the same through Web as:
Code:
WEB URL : http://ukmygateway.com   ==> Name changed

Now When I switched on vpnc on Ubuntu I wonder what gonna I enter:
all It ask for :
Code:
IPSec gateway:
IPSec ID: groupa
IPSec secret:
Xauth username:
Xauth password:
Anyone who can help me with this entries.

The group and secret would be provided by whoever manages your VPN connection. They are both case-sensitive. Are they the two that you're unsure about? The gateway would be the domain name for the VPN.

I doubt that is true. Either vpnc (most likely) or openvpn (both for Linux) should get you connected. If it works for Windows it will work for Linux; they shouldn't need to set up anything additional.

You will need them to give you the VPN server's domain name (or IP), group name and secret though.

I too think so..There wont be seperate setup for specific OS.
I have VPN address of http://ukroute.companyname.com. When I open this it ask me two things:
Username -
Passcode -

Is Groupname different from this.
Generally I provide:
My Company intranet username and {<4 digit pin + Number displayed under SecureID Device>} as passcode.
Is it different from GROUPNAME

Are you just visiting the web address? As that way probably won't work in Linux. You'll have to install vpnc and use that.

Yeah I have two options:
1. through Web
2. thru VPNC.

And I dont understand what to supply for :
Code:
IPSec ID:
IPSec secret:
Is it Domainname of The Intranet or anything else?

You will need to ask the manager of the VPN to give you that information. It is basically a general username (case-sensitive) and password to get you connected. You would authenticate your personal account afterwards.
