VPN Connection

I Have been following some very detailed instruction about installing a VPN connection on Linux Mint 17.2
However when trying to connect I am getting the message..."Private internet access failed because of invalid VPN secrets"
I was trying to use us-west.privateinternetaccess.com is this a paid for service and that's why I cannot connect or is it some other problem ?

It's because you are not passing the necessary username/password credentials needed to connect to their secure VPN.
