Your question is VERY hard to understand. Please try to write clearly.

Ubuntu 8.10 is pretty old, the first thing I'd do (since this is a new installation), is to download and install the latest version. Then, check Google (and this very site), for instructions. This is a Huwai device, rebranded by Vodafone. This link:

http://www.betavine.net/bvportal/for...24c4c1b8df02f9

has instructions.

Thankyou TBOne for the advice.
I have 6 DVD's in a Repository pack for Ubuntu 8.10 that is the only reason I'm using such an old version were, will I got all the Programs for Ubuntu 10.4 as I said I am new to Linux. What OS will you recommend. I have worked with Mandriva 2008 and Ubuntu 8.10 And I love both. Compus fusion is something else.

What I'm after is to get my USB modem to work.
I am use to Windows but I have a 64 bid operating system and windows is very pricy.

Linux give me what I want It's just that I still meed to figer it out.
I will use linux in the end.

Thanks again
Iaan
P.S. were is the thanks button

Again, write and spell clearly. It is very hard to understand what you're saying. No idea what you mean by "will I got all the programs for Ubuntu 10.4", but 10.4 is a complete distro, with the same (more, probably, programs as you had on 8.

Yes, and I told you how to get it to work in my first post. Gave you a link with instructions, and they're not hard to find on Google either

The "Thanks" button is at the bottom-right corner of the posts.
