VNC/KDE problems on fedora 8

ok... where to start lol. I have just bought a dedicated server with fedora 8 installed... of course it only has SSH terminal access. So i need to get some sort of GUI working. I followed this tutorial . All was going well, installed KDE no problems install vnc no problems, edited the /.vnc/xstartup to have 'startkde &' and the end and saved it. Started vnc and kde, tryed to VNC but VNC couldnt connect, just after a while says timed out.

Please help me with this i need some sort of GUI on this thing. Any GUI will do.

Thanks all who help.
