VNC issues


Ok here is how it goes I have Red hat Linux 9 and in this package vncserver service is embedded into. I have configured the xstartup script the way I has been mentioned. Then I start the vncserver and I go to my windows box it log's in fine but then I see the session in fail safe mode can some help me understand why

If by "fail safe mode" you mean a low screen resolution such as 640x480, it's possible that you haven't specified a valid resolution when you started the vncserver. what is the command you used to start up the vncserver?

how do you do this? I am reinstalling Red Hat Linux 9 I like to know step by step when I start the vncserver. Can you please help or do you have a tutorial on Red Hat Linux 9

Once you get the box back up and running type man vncserver in a shell.

If you still have questions, post pack here.


Redhat 9 is rather old, if you're situation allows it, perhaps you should look at a more current distribution of linux.
