Angry vmware / win2k pro /astaro

I am running windows 2000 pro on my system.
which is...
msi 845 ultra
p4 1.5
3 X 256 MB ddr
msi tti 64MB NVidia Video Card
Netgear NIC 10/100
60 GB + 80 GB 7200 rpm HD
Plextor 24x10x40 cd-rw
Sony 16X slot load dvd-rom
Teac 1.44 MB floppy
Logitech Wireless Mouse and Keyboard
NetGear 10/100 Switch
Cable router

Anyways...

I have 200 pro running.
I also have VMware version 4 running.

I installed Astaro in vmware.

I can boot and login to astaro.

I can ping the ip address for my custom nic's in astaro.

I CANNOT ping the ip address for my astaro router.
Which means I cannot configure my astaro .

I cant figured out what I am doing wrong.

You haven't configured networking.
VMware works with bridged networking or NAT if I remember correctly. Run that configuration wizard again and keep your eyes open when it comes to the networking bit.
Then configure your distro to work with those settings you've chosen.

You have to configure networking on your distro, I can't tell you what to do as I'm unfamiliar with that distro.
