vmware processes
Hi!
I've installed Vmware Workstation 6.5 on Debian Lenny. After I removed it I had one problem: I saw in bootchart that some of it's processes were still starting (vmware-networks, vmware-ping, vmnet-bridge, vmnet-dhcpd, vmnet-netifup, vmnet-natd) How can I stop those processes? Thanks. |
Hi, welcome to LQ!
And *how* did you remove VMWare? Cheers, Tink |
With the vmware-uninstall.pl script.

On Fedora VMware can be installed and removed as a package via the package managers rpm or yum, and I assume that on Debian in a similar way installation takes place via a package manager. So far I have never met the vmware-uninstall.pl script (though I admit that my installation is not a recent one), but either the uninstall script is not aware things done by the package manager, or if VMware was installed without a package manager by some other install script, and in that case the uninstall script is simply buggy.
