VMware Player 14 does not show virtual machines

Hi,

I recently installed Ubuntu 17.10 on my desktop PC. Installed VMware Player as well. The application opens up okay; however, after creating a new VM the VMware player GUI does not show the new VM. I attempted to open it manually, I go through the process and when i click open the GUI blinks like it is trying to open it but it does not show anything.

System: Dell PowerEdge T30 Xeon Processor 8GB of ram 120GB intel SSD

Thank you

After some searching, I found out that other users are having the same issue:

If you believe that thread then we'd have to assume the installer didn't fully test the environment. I assume VMware will fix the issue or a fix by some user.

Not sure your issue is exactly the same but you can look at the log of the machine for clues. The machine could be running in background too.

Thanks for your reply. yes, I believe is the same issue since I am able to start the VM by using the 'vmplayer' command followed by the VM file. I think it has something to do with the GUI. Hopefully VM will release a patch to solve this issue soon. For now, I am just going to downgrade to VM Player 12.x
Thank you

OK, thanks for the update. Hope you get a solution soon. Email vmware and ask maybe?
