vmware on ubuntu 12.04


hi im new to linux only had it for bout a week. i have problems installing vmware 8 on ubuntu 12.04 its the same problem here http:// http://weltall.heliohost.org...l-3-2-and-3-3/ exxept the patch didnt work for me and still gives the same error. i would appreciate the help

If you're new to Linux, and any virtualization solution will do (don't need VMware), I'd suggest looking at Virtualbox. In my opinion, it's a better option for most deployments under 32 cores.

I never used VMware, personally, because it didn't used to be free/open. It still isn't, really. Anyway, Virtualbox is a fairly mature piece of software.

thanks. i will use virtual box instead. but i would like to understand the errors and y it occured so i can be more familliarized with the os and maybe improve basic tbshooting skills but i dont know where to begin
.

ohh its not the same.. vmware has been compatible wid previous versions of ubuntu except the 12.04 atleast according to the things ive read
