Vmware help
Hey,
I want to install slackware 10.1 on Vmware but im having some problems. Ive chosen Typical (Virtual Machine Config) then Linux: Other Linux 2.4.x Kernel, set up the Network to use NAT and that was it. The CD-ROM is recognised and the slackware disk is in, however when i go to install i get the error: No bootable CD, Floppy or hard disk was detected. To install the Operating System, insert a bootable CD or floppy and restart the virtual machine by clicking the reset button Am i doing anything wrong? |
You need to update that version of vmware. Don't ask me why. Ran into this the other day. The cd-rom isn't detected with their default download version.

the real thing (I'm not saying to try to install it)? Btw, are you using VMWare on a Windows or Linux-Host? Cheers, Tink |
I have the latest version (5.5.0) and yes the cd is burnt as ISO bootable and does boot on startup.
Im thinking ill go ahead and get an ISO image off the disk and see if it works that way Thanks |
Hmmm ... there should be no need to "burn as ISO bootable".
Strange that it DOES boot, though. Cheers, Tink |
