ok i am completely lost in the Linux world I am attempting to load ESX server 3 on two seperate machines. they are the following

1) Intel server dual xeon 2.6 Ghx 2gb ram Adaptec 2100s scsi raid 60 GB raid 5 array

2) Intel DG965RY board dual core 2.8 Ghx 2 Gb ram sata 40 GB hard drive

neither of these machines see the hard drives and im lost both are asking me to select the driver

first what driver do I need what am i doing wrong??

What version of linux is vmware based on?

any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

ESX Server 3 is a commercial product which should have support, I would suggest calling vmware.
If you are running the eval, check their Knowledgebase or forums.
