VLC Interface

When playing video with VLC, there are 2 interfaces, one that plays the video and the other is the controls.

How can I combine the 2 into 1 (video playing in the center and the controls are either on top or button of screen), which is how I remember VLC is some time back.

Tools --> Preferences --> Interface --> select Embed video in interface.
