hi .
i would like to access my vista documents and settings folder from ubuntu x64 , however the folder is shown to be empty when its not. .
so can nyone of u ll help me out with accessing the contents of this folder..
and i have an external hdd connected to my laptop .. so how do i access this drive from the terminal .the cd command doesnt seem to be working ..
PS:
In years past, there were issues with using NTFS in read/write mode (as opposed to read-only). In newer versions of Ubuntu, this shouldn't be a problem. *Especially* for USB drives.
PPS:
If the drive is exported as a network share, on a separate Windows/Vista PC, that's different. Then you're talking "Samba":
You have a laptop with an external drive connected to it?? Which has Ubuntu? which has vista? Assuming you are able to boot Ubuntu and can't see vista, did you create a mount point for vista in Ubuntu? Do you have an entry for vista in /etc/fstab file?
