Iam new to Linux and with help found browsing this site i have installed Mandrake 10 dual boot With xp.
Every thing is working well thanks to the posts i have read here. But i do Have 1 problem i havent been able to solve.I have a virtual Screen Which i find annoying can you help Please.

I'm sorry but I don't really understand what you mean by virtual screen. Do you mean that the you have for example a virtual 1280x1024 screen displayed on a 1024x786 actual screen?
If that is what you mean, then post your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file.

Iam trying to use 800x600 Res and when ilog in ihave a desk top larger than the screen. Hereis the config.

I just realized that since upgrading to lm 10, my /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file also uses Virtual entries in the display entries. On mine however, the Monitor model I selected was for the same resolution as the display I use.

Tried reconfiguring Monitor to 800 x 600 also 1024x768 still virtual at both resolution . The Monitor is a 14 inch crt . Checked var log as sujjested and found this.
