I was setting up two new Linux distros using QtParted for formating and received the following error below when I was trying to format the 17.76 GB partition. I would have posted this in the QtParted forums but I can not get to that site today. Notice that there were two hda1 partitions listed, why ?
I have this resolved by using a Suse install disk and forced it with that. But I would like to know first of all, what is a virtual partition and what does one have to do to get QtParded to format it in this situation ?
One last question, on a dual boot of Linux distros, is there any disadvantage of having one distro using file system "reiserfs" and the other Ext2/3 ?
No Partition Type Status Size
01 /dev/hda1 ext3 active 9.19 GB
02 /dev/hda2 linux swap 1 GB
03 /dev/hda1 free hidden 17.76 GB
This is a virtual partition. You can not alter it, use undo instead.
I welcome all suggestions and comments !
