Virtual Memory

Hi Guys,

Thanks for taking a look at my post, I was looking over my server and I realised that there are two processes taking up 9gb in what looks to be virtual memory. I was just wondering if this is normal as the load on the server at the moment is fairly low.

The two services are aus-snmpd (6gb) and mysql (3gb). I have tried killing the aus-snmp process as i dont see the mysql as a problem but that doesnt work. restarting the server also makes no difference.

By the way this is on a centos 5.8 server
Would someone kindly be able to point me in the right direction?

Many Thanks

I googled ita and find it is some kind of RAID Manager Agent. May be busy doing something with RAID. If you are sure to kill it. What command did you used kill the process. Kill it with
Code:

#kill -9 PID

Don't kill stuff randomly.
