Virtual Host Configuration - Issue (Utilization of Proxy Pass Method)

Hi,

I have installed Apache 2.0.63 on RH Linux (64) EL-5.3. Locally I can see Apache is running and welcome page is coming, where as when I try to access page from other system. It is throwing error:

Service Temporarily Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Apache/2.2.3 (Oracle) Server at IP Port 80

Tried one more option changing the Port No, in that case I am getting error message as follows:
apachectl start
(13)Permission denied: make_sock: could not bind to address [::]:82
(13)Permission denied: make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:82
no listening sockets available, shutting down
Unable to open logs

..Tried with 2 option and reaching nowhere.

We want to use Apache Web Server services for redirection purpose. Our Application Server has been installed on IBM WebSphere. So we will be redirecting the request to Appliaction Server and getting the request from Application Server.

Request please help me resolving the issue.

Thanks in Advance.

Regards,
Sanjay

i hate to say it - but tail -f /path/to/accesslogs /path/to/errorlogs &
firstly do an apachectl configtest or httpd -S and then restart apache using normal config.
see what you get then paste here...
