hi all,
absolute newbie here, just bought asus eeepc netbook with linpus installed, and cant install virgin mobile dongle, it isnt even recognised. i havent a clue what to do, but i dont want to remove linpus, its so intuitive. one friend suggested i have to open a command line, but i dont know how to do this
any help would be appreciated. - thanks in advance
Well it depends on the graphical interface. But if it is gnome just click on the foot then click on the Accessories and you should see terminal. Then you will want to follow the website from the previous poster. after you download the deb file you will need to enter one of the two commands.
Code:
sudo dpkg --install <what ever>.deb
or
Code:
su -
enter root password
dpkg --install <what ever>.deb
The links in my sig are for the Acer Aspire One, which also runs Linpus Lite by default, so there should be a lot of useful information there for you as well..
Linpus lite is fedora based.. I don't think it uses .deb packages..
hi all.
