Vim versions in Ubuntu

I am trying to install vim. Now I see the following options:

It also says that to install the last three I have to enable the component called 'universe.'

What is universe and how can I enable it?

Thanks, - Alex

Trying to install VIM I get the following error:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:

vim : Depends: vim-common (= 2:7.3.429-2ubuntu2) but 2:7.3.429-2ubuntu2.1 is to be installed

What does it all mean?

What shall I do?

Thanks, - Alex
