Viewing files from Linux in Windows

I'm taking a Java class and I compile all of my programs and make all of my files in Linux (as text files) but when I copy them to a disk or try to view them from a different computer, most of the time I can't even see the files unless I'm in Linux, how do I fix this?

If you are using a heavily GUI distro, you may be able to gui your way into this. But from the command line this should work

put in your floppy disk
su -
enter your password
mkfs.msdos /dev/fd0
--or--
mkvfatfs /dev/fd0
--or--
mkfs.vfat /dev/fd0
mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
cp myjavafiles /mnt/floppy
umount /dev/fd0
---or is it this? I can't remember the umount command--
umount /mnt/floppy

And yet another "or" you could format the floppies in windows or buy them IBM formatted and just mount and write to them from linux.

Sometimes you cannot mount unless you do this command

mount -t msdos /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
--or--
mount -t vfat /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy

Hope I helped. PS. Java rocks! lol.
