Not much info. What have you tried to get it working? If you are using PCLinuxOS-2010, there should be a speaker icon in the lower right of the screen. Check to make sure mute is not selected and right click the icon, select Show Mixer Window and move the volume slider up. If that doesn't work. post back with results.

video sound pclinuxos

The sound is on 90%. Mute is off. My pclinuxos is 2010 and was installed this past Tuesday. What have I tried? I have tried to download some plugins, such as 64 bit linux Adobe flash drive and another one which was something like FLV- not sure. I have gone into the hardware and tried to enable pulse, which required a plugin which did not work- the plug in would not load. I gave up on that. I also checked glitch free, and it is now grey. I would like to uncheck it, but the box is grey and even getting rid of the power source in addition to rebooting the computer has not worked. The box remains grey with a grey check rather than a black check on white background. Googling for solutions has not worked.

In your first post, you indicate that the problem is with cnn.com so is it when you are on line trying to play sound that you get the problem or is it no sound at all? If the former, did you install the flash-player-plugin through Synaptic? Did you download it from the Adobe site?

Which plugin?

Which plugin?
Yanec-- I tried several things to solve the video sound problems which existed on any video that I might try and existed on any tv channel that I tried, and there were some other problems with the Pclinux KDE system in addition to the sound problem. So,I decided to uninstall it and install Mint, and Mint so far is working very well. The Mint user manual has been a tremendous help for this newbie! I believe, by the way, that the download for the Pclinuxos KDE was poorly done and that that core error made efforts to correct problems very difficult. Thanks for reaching out to a newbie! Your help is much appreciated! Lew
