video sound


ive just sent a video from my phone to my computer i have linux.the video plays fine but with no sound.sound works fine on web cam and youtube.

I assume this is a video you recorded with the phone's camera? Either you don't have the codec it needs installed, or it's in an unsupported oddball format. What does the output of 'file videoname' say? Also try running it through mplayer or ffmpeg from the command-line and search the output for the audio type.
