Video problem in Fedora
Hi,
Have just installed Fedora 13 and Movie Player requires plugins and it "cant find the necessary plugins in any configured source" Can you tell me how to run videos in F13 ? Thanks for your time |
Without knowing what you actually want (movie player ?) here is a howto for most codecs required for media playback.

If you got a internet connection this should be easy.
goto the VLC (Video LAN) website and see how to configure your repo. Then just do a yum install. Vlc will play almost all formats of video (i suppose). Downloads should be around 60Mb. If you dont have a personal net connection , i will give you the dependency resolution. Regards. |
i take it you did not read the fedora docs???
totem ( the default movie player ) asks you to BUY the codec legally and pops up a menu to do just that . see Mjm's web page http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mjm-fedora-f13.html and the fedora docs http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/index.html http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/...ultimedia.html |
Yes... But one could always use VLC instead of Totem and proprietary codecs.

Please also note that installation of VLC would have been easy had the OP had Ubuntu, as it is in the main repository.
