Smile Video not working (green/purple) in web browser

New to Linux just installed 1st time, perfect video using VLC. Video pictures very poor quality cannot be seen green/purple in colour on all web browsers, adobe Shockwave Flash plugin installed always activate. Do I need a new driver/video adapter driver software for my Dell Monitor etc? Linux Driver Manager = No propriety drivers are in use. If I install new drivers will it change my XP boot up system, if I change my drivers in XP will this effect my Linux system.Video pictures also very poor quality on web browser when I Boot LIVE from my linux mint xfce 4.1 32 bit DVD.Can anyone assist me with the basics? I've got the Dell Dimension 2400 PC and it's over 9 years old and i've fine tuned it to bootup in XP in under 30 seconds, runs perfectly. But when XP support ends in March I would like to be using linux for internet access etc.

Does that mean (purple) you are using Ubuntu?

You might post some info on your hardware, graphics card in particular.

If I install new drivers will it change my XP boot up system
Installing new drivers on your Linux system will not have any effect on XP or booting it.

if I change my drivers in XP will this effect my Linux system
No. Do you have Linux and XP on separate partitions? or is this something like a wubi install? The age of your computer might be part of the problem.

If you have an older computer and can not get flash videos to play on sites like youtube, etc. it may be because the latest adobe flashplugin for linux is not compatible with your CPU. The solution is to downgrade the flashplugin version to one that is compatible.

(NOTE: To avoid possible typos or other mistakes, best to copy/paste commands listed here into the terminal.)

First, to confirm that this is indeed the problem, open a terminal (Menu -> Accessories -> Terminal) and enter the following:

inxi -C

You will see something similar to this:

CPU: Quad core AMD Phenom II X4 B55 (-MCP-) cache: 2048 KB flags: (lm nx sse sse2 sse3 sse4a svm)

Look at the "flags" portion of the output and look to see if it contains "SSE2". If you only see "SSE", then your CPU needs to use an older version of the flashplugin. If you do see "SSE2", then your problem is something else -- so don't bother with these instructions.

My system is o'k,It contains sse2 It's not adobe flashplugin compatibility?

CPU: Single core Intel Pentium 4 CPU (-HT-) cache: 512 KB flags: (sse sse2)
Clock Speeds: 1: 3056.654 MHz 2: 3056.654 MHz
