Video card confusion! Halp!

Hey, I'm COMPLETELY new to linux, though so far I've managed to learn a little through a bit of research.

I have Fedora 12, and I keep getting errors about my video card not being able to run 3d...anything. Are there any lines of code/applications I could get to remedy this? My video card is a pretty good Nvidea, and my display is a decently high resolution. I'm running on a dell Inspiron 1720 laptop, if that helps. :P

Fedora has been well with nvidia UNTIL Fedora 12 has implemented a modification with X. There is common bug, it is discussed here by some users. The good news is that it has already a confirmed solution, there are links here.

c0rsana also keep in mind that fedora is a TESTING distro and updates can and DO break things .also not everything will work correctly for everyone in fedora . and somethings might never work on your hardware .
