VIA KT333 patch
Hi I'm tring to patch my kernel ( redhat 8.0, linux 2.4.18-14) for Via kt333 full support and don't know how to do it right. I tried the command
gzip -cd patch-2.5.56.gz | patch -p0 and zcat patch-2.5.56.gz | patch -p0 but got scared as i might f@-up something up. and also while i'm here can anyone post a site that has good stable kernels that WILL automount my scsi device ( jaz zip drive 2 gig ). But if you can still post a site with good stable kernels and post what you know about automounting a scsi device then it is welcome :-) thanks Peace |

are you sure you want a beta kernel though? i think youd be better off trying to find a module for it, also im not sure that you can simply patch a redhat kernel with a mainstream vanilla kernel because redhat (and mandrake as ive found) place patches onto the original kernel that can make it incompatible with the new patches so you should simply compile a new kernel |
do recompling the kernel to add support for Via KT333 chipset? Is support on 2.4.18-16 kernel?
Hmm.. I don't want to be a big bother on this thread but can anyone post a link to some modules for via KT333 ( i only saw patch upgrade for Via kt333 and kt400 chipsets ). |
