vi question


how do I know which file I'm editing right now without quiting vi?

By looking at the left hand side of the bottom line?

Or by saving it, if ex was active...

Ctrl+G
not Shift+G


Shift+G is to go to the last line

And Tinkster its not about vi or emacs .Its gettin the job done
