very ugly terminal problem

My konsole on KDE:

And my xterm on WindowMaker:
http://geocities.yahoo.com.br/lcsvella/xterm.png

As you can see, they are very different. Konsole on KDE look like my normal virtual terminal (without X): with fortune on startup, informative prompot with actual dir, user name and hostname, colorful file list...
Is there any way to configure my xterm on WindowMaker to be as nice as Konsole on KDE? I am using Slackware 10.

Thanks.

just run konsole under Windowmaker

Konsole looks "nice" becuase of the bloated junk crammed into it. xterm is "ugly" becuase it does what it's meant to do very well, without wasting resources.

Konsole on WindowMaker is as ugly as xterm (it still has the good looking font and menus, but that does not matter for me):

And yeah, xterm rocks.

this will execute /etc/profile everytime you open a terminal window.

cat > .bashrc << "EOF"
if [ -f /etc/profile ]; then
. /etc/profile
fi
EOF

this will give you a nice large xterm

cat > .Xresources << "EOF"
xterm*background: black
xterm*foreground: white
xterm*font: 10x20
xterm*scrollBar: true
xterm*rightScrollBar: true
xterm*saveLines: 20000
xterm*cursorColor: yellow
EOF
