Verifying DMI pool data
 

hello everyone,
I was a windows XP user and one fine day my windows crashed and blue screen of death appeared. I have downloaded Ubuntu and created an ISO image on my pendrive with the help of the another computer as per the steps mentioned on the linux website. Now when am tryin to boot my corrupt PC with pendrive i cannot move beyond the comment " verifying DMI pool data" nothing happens later.

Depending on the hardware used it could be attempting to boot to the USB device and failing, attempting to boot to the internal hard drive and failing or not attempting to boot to anything at all.

Does the system get beyond this point when the USB device is unplugged?

Do you have a bootable CD/DVD to try in case the system does not properly support booting to USB, does it boot to the CD/DVD?

What happens if you disconnect the hard drive, USB and all external devices (except monitor keyboard and mouse) from the system (it should say "no bootable device found" or similar message)?

If the system is not getting beyond this point at all it is highly likely that you have failed/failing hardware.

Thanks for your reply and i really appreciate your effort. My system shows me an error message when i unplug my USB and directs me again to the blue screen of death.
I am able to boot with help of a CD, however i was using highspeed RW CD so the updation crashed in the halfway showing Input/Output error as CD was not successfully burn.
I am sure about working of my hardware. My system responded when i tried to install some other version of XP windows. the file was however corrupt so the installation was failed.
My CMOS and BIOS settings are accordingly changed, still i am not able to install it from USB.

You can try to burn the Linux CD with the slowest possible speed settings and if the burning application has a verify option you can check that. Verify will make sure the burned media matches the ISO image. If it has problems loading on the system it is either a hardware incompatibility or bad hardware.

If both a bootable CD and the Windows CD are unable to fully run because of read/write errors or file corruption that points toward failing hardware (possibly bad CD/DVD drive reading from the disks).
