Vector Linux & KDE3.1 - log in at GUI

Vector Linux 3.2.:

Is there anyway I can get the GUI (KDE3.1) to start as soon as the user has logged in ?

Or even better, for KDE to run straight away, then asks the user to log in ?

I'm building a PC for a relative who is familiar with (looks over both shoulders & whispers...) "windows...", so would prefer to log in once through KDE rather than at the CLI & have to type 'startx'. Lazy, lazy, I know.

Yes, no problem. Log in as root and open a terminal type vasm, then go into XSET. You can sort it from there.
