variables

I created a variable by issuing the following

blue='the sky is blue'

when I do

echo $blue

It displays the sky is blue

I know when I do env it shows enviornment variables, but how can I display my variable called blue which I created? It doesn't show up when I do env.

Thanks!

use set instead of env, of use export to set it as a full environmental variable.
