Question var/log/messages Question


After entering:
Code:
tail var/log/messages
there are parts where it says "--MARK --".

What dose "--MARK--" actually means?

--MARK-- shows that syslog is running. It has no other significance and can be disabled if you want/need to.

the living system writes markers, just to see (if nothing else happened), it is still ok.
