/var/log/auth.log doens't have correct date and hostname (Solution)

I just post this here for reference to a newbee problem I had, and found the solution for.

When changing the date and hostname on my debian server I noticed that the log /var/log/auth.log didn't have the new date and hostname! A user on another forum pointed me to the solution:

/etc/init.d/sysklogd restart

case closed!
