The problem is : You cannot change the system version of the
udev package. AFAIK. Lenny uses "udev (0.125-7+lenny3)".

Please have a look at this thread, post # 2,
where udev~147 is used for a similar application
and installed to --prefix=/usr/local/gudev/ ,
( must have a "hideaway" location ) and used with :
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/gudev/lib
