Hi,

Can’t think why my sound has vanished. The meters are bouncing around as you would expect , no sound when I create a new user or run a live cd?

Nothing is muted when I run alsamixer and my speakers are fine?

Any advice please?

Hi,

I've been there, turned out the speakers were unplugged....Linux showed me not always to look too far. As you posted, your system seems to be in working order. You did'nt install/edit/reconfig anything so that's a plus.
I'd go for the connection. But, hey, it is sunday morning here...
