Vanilla kernel config gives kernel panic: Unable to find VolGroup0
Hello,
I am using Fedora 7 on an 8yr old pc. I am trying to build a vanilla kernel (2.6.26.3). I used xconfig to select what I thought might be appropriate settings, but apparently I've done something wrong. When booting with the new kernel I get a kernel panic which looks something like this:
Searching for logical volumes:
Unable to find VolGroup0
...
... could not mount /root
... could not mount /proc
... could not mount /sys
kernel panic...
I've searched through forums and googled, but don't see much that I thought would help me. In my config I did enable LVM.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
bbc
