Vagrant / guess additions of VM

Hello everyone,

I'm having some problems while trying to update GuestAdditions of Oracle's VirtualBox on a Ubuntu 12.04 LTS version.

The first thing I had was that wonderful "unmatching versions of Guest Additions". I got helped by google and fixed this.

In the process of installing the 4.1.8 version of Linux Guest Additions, I
got some error. Log file said the following:

Code:
Starting the VirtualBox Guest Additions - fail!
(modprobe vboxguest failed)
I tried to restart my Vagrant VM anyways, which actually worked fine without any errors. I did not find any real help on google for that modprobe issue by now, so that's why I'm opening this new thread - I'm kind of a newbie to Linux anyway and in general to programing, so please try to help me in simple words :-).

In advance great thanks for your help!

Lukas

I have never used Vagrant, I did go to their site and found this support link. Might be worth a try to ask on their chat they list. Could be faster for you.

I will give it a try, though I thought that this actually is a linux based problem, not a vagrant conflict.
That was also what my google searches gave me, on Windows or Mac OS this problem seems not to happen.

One answer I recently found was "does not matter, it is a failure that can actually be ignored" :/.
