Using Xdialog to su


This probably gets asked all the time, but how can I write a shell script that creates an X window (using Xdialog) to prompt for the root password so that the rest of the script can be run as root?
Code:
su -
requires TTY (I'm not even sure what that means)

why dont you use gksu or kdesu read up on sudo
