Hi,
I have SUSE Enterprise Server 1 SP2, and had some trouble installing my wireless NIC:
The NIC was Ralink RT3060, and I followed the following instructions in order to install it:
First I have built and installed using this site:
http://www.hyperborea.org/journal/20...i-ralink-3062/
Surprisingly it worked inspite the fact that the module was intended for kernel 2.6 while I have 3.0
Than I had to configure a connection using the following link:
http://doc.opensuse.org/documentatio...c.nm.configure
Finally it worked fine, but now I hav to run modprobe rt3562sta whenever I restart Linux.
Also the network is only available from network manager and not from YAST.
This looks like an ugly workaround: I have installed an obsolete version f a module that belongs to older kernel versions, and everything I did was manually, and still I can control the network only from NetworkManager.
For example, on my Kubuntu OS, everything worked just out of the box, and I didn't have to work so hard.
Do you know if there is an easier way to work with this distribution?
Thanks,
Guy
