The Fedora install process will help you through installing a boot loader, which will allow you to dual boot. The boot loader needs to be configured to boot your XP system, and the install procedure should help you with that. When the system boots, it will show a menu of some kind that asks whether you want to boot linux or windows.

Make sure you have an XP install CD handy - if the worst happens and you can't boot Windows or Linux, you can use the XP CD to restore your boot records (don't reinstall windows!).

Good luck!
