using syslinux on hard drive
Dear all,
i want to clone windows xp and fc3 (using dd command) to many computers which already have windows xp (ntfs) installed. Since the computers don't have floppy and cdrom and not support boot from usb, i want to use syslinux on hardisk. the hardisk has partition: /dev/hda1/ ntfs /dev/hda6/ ext3 .... The problem is i don't know how to to mark the appropriate partition active to boot syslinux because i can't use dos to do it. any solution?please help.. |
SYSLINUX can not boot off of NTFS. It only boots off of FAT. GRUB is better suited for your purpose.
The dd command should not be used because the hard drive have to be the same and it have to be in excellent condition. Better tools are Partimage or Norton Ghost. |
