Using Samba for networking on Ubuntu

I am running Ubuntu setting up networking using Samba following this page.

http://www.samba.netfirms.com/sambconf.htm

It says I need to set file permissions "In order for Samba to accomplish all this we need to set certain Linux file permissions such as these. This can be done by opening your file manager (in this case Konqueror) and right clicking on the /data/mp3 share and choosing properties"

Where do I find these permissions on Ubuntu? By the way I am running pcman.

Right-click on a file, go to 'Properties', choose 'Permissions' tab.

Also in terminal use chmod command. See 'man chmod'
