Question Using make-kpkg to install debian packages

Good day, people.

Can someone please confirm is the kernel-package utility can be used to add debian packages (.bz2, .gz, .deb, etc.) at time if kernel image construction?
make-kpkg --add_patches <patch file name>
or
make-kpkg --add_modules <module name>
If you have a better way to add packages at time of build, please advise.

Thanks! Looking forward to your responses.
