Using Mail In SUSE
 

I am trying to figure out how to use mail in suse 10. What files need to be edited to get mail to work? I just want to be able to create a simple email (by command line) and send it to my gmail account. If I do the following:

# mail myusername@gmail.com
Subject: test
this is a test
.
EOT

it doesn't give me an error but then I never receive the email. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you see anything in your logs when you try to send? Have a look in /var/log to see what the maillog filename is

I checked in /var/log. There was nothing new in the mail, mail.err, mail.info and mail.warn. Also checked messages and there was nothing regarding mail.
