Using Konqueror to Browse Local Intranet

I've got Samba running fine (?) under Mandrake 9 and can see shared directories on my win 98 and linux machines, from each machine.

However, using Konqueror to browse the win 98 shares is impossible because it doesn't recognise the first character of every file or directory name so that I can't open files or browse sub-directories in shared folders. I don't have the same problem with Nautilus (just other problems) but wonder if there's a setting in K or samba that will fix this?

cheers

i'm thinking most likely, well you sorta discribed it yourself right there when you said "However, using Konqueror to browse the win 98 shares is impossible because it doesn't recognise the first character of every file or directory name"

so I'm thinking that's your problem right there, none the less you never know their might be a plugin of some sort that will help you fix this, I never had to browse windows files ... .Because i couldn't find out how :(
