Hello folks !
I have a linux installed on /dev/hda2 with total size of roughly 660Mb. Could I make an iso image of the linux while it is "live" using the genisoimage command ?
Code:
root:$ genisoimage -r -o /mnt/hda5/linux.iso /
What I essentially want to do is to make the iso on a separate partition of my HD for safe keeping and for burning onto a CD at a later date. Once the iso is burnt onto CD what would happen to all the permissions of the files and directories ? Are the permissions on the files retained so allowing for future restoration of /dev/hda2 if the latter were to become corrupted or crash ?
Thanks again !
